I’m continuing to use up my stash, and here is a free crochet doily pattern that I created to use up remnant cotton yarn. I like bright bursts of color; hence, the primary and secondary colors. These little doilies will be used under small potted plants or rootings. Notice the avocado seed with it’s emerging sprout.
If you want to crochet a set of mini doilies for yourself, here’s the pattern:
Free Crochet Doily Pattern
Hook: 6.00 / US J10
Yarn used: Lily Sugar’n Cream (worsted, 4 -ply, various colors) and Martha Stewart Crafts cotton-hemp blend (worsted, various colors)
Begin with a sliding loop (a.k.a. magic loop).q
Picot = chain 4
Round 1: Ch 5 (counts as a dc and ch-2), *dc in the ring, ch 2, then repeat from * 6 more times. Join with a slip st to 3rd chain of ch-5. (8 dc total)
Round 2: Ch 1, sc in the same stitch, 2 sc in ch-2 space, *sc in next dc, 2 sc in next ch-2 space, then repeat from * 6 more times. Join with a slip st in first sc.
Round 3: Ch 4 (counts as dc and ch-1), *dc in the next sc, ch1, then repeat from * around. Join with a slip st to the third chain of ch-4.
Round 4: *sc in chain space. sc in dc and Ch 4, then repeat from * around.
