Knitted Collar Free Pattern – Bamboo Bloom Handpaints Yarn

This winter, I can’t wait to wear this knitted collar made from Bamboo Bloom Handpaints yarn. It’s so pretty. There are so many Handpaints color blends to choose from. This pattern has a slight ruffling – it’s girly. I plan to wear this over a solid, simple, long-sleeved, lightweight sweater.

The Pattern for the Knitted Collar:

Needles: No. 11 US or 8.0mm circular knitting needles (29-inch cable)

Yarn: 1 skein of Bamboo Bloom Handpaints (the colorway shown here is 313, lot S2005)

  • Cast on 40 stitches.
  • Knit 4 rows.
  • Row 5 (increasing): K1 M1 across the entire row. You’ll end up with a total of 79 stitches on your needle.
  • Knit 8 rows.
  • Row 14 (increasing): K1 M1 across the entire row. You’ll end up with a total of 157 stitches on your needles.
  • Knit 4 rows.
  • Row 19 (increasing): K10 (ten) M1 across the entire row. After your last M1, there will not be 10 stitches to knit. Just knit to the end of the row. You’ll have a total of 171 stitches.
  • Knit 1 row.
  • Row 21 (increasing): K10 (ten) M1 across the entire row. After your last M1, there will not be 10 stitches to knit. Just knit to the end of the row. You’ll have a total of 188 stitches.
  • Knit 3 rows. (If your skein looks like you have enough yarn to knit 4 rows and then bind off, do that. You might as well use up as many inches of the skein as you can.)
  • Bind off.

That’s it! Easy peasy. I hope if you decide to make this collar, you’ll enjoy it this winter.
