I enjoyed following this free crochet baby sweater pattern; though, I did make some slight modifications. The pattern from Yarnspirations is for a kitty or bear character. Given the silkiness and weight of the yarn, I decided to shorten the sleeves and omit the character feature. This is a sweater that can be worn in the spring or summer; however, it can also be worn in the winter with a shirt beneath.
I used Bernat Softee Baby Cotton DK yarn. The colors are cotton (creamy white) and pale periwinkle. The yarn type was suggested by the pattern maker.
I don’t recall if I used the suggested hook size or not, but I did crochet to gauge. It’s easy to crochet a gauge swatch, so don’t skip doing so. You’ll only need one skein of each color to make the sweater.
This video from Crochet Crowd makes crocheting this sweater so easy. Follow the video instructions and you’ll have a baby sweater crocheted in no time!
Oh, if you’re on Ravelry, you can also find the pattern listed there.
