Last Supper Poster of Battlestar Galactica Cast

Battlestar Galatica Last Supper

One of the best TV shows of all time is Battlestar Galatica, now in its last season on the SciFi channel. If you’re a fan, you’ll truly appreciate this take on the Last Supper, especially when you consider the “one god” theme of the series (one of many themes). How appropriate for Six to take Christ’s position. Get a better look at the image at SciFi.

This isn’t the only tribute/caricature of Leonardo da Vinci’s Last Supper. You can find more here at Jeremy Barker’s site – Popped Culture.

How to Write Senryu Poetry

Senryu poetry is very much like Haiku in that a Senryu is a short, unrhymed poem composed of 17 syllables or less and written in three lines. It’s not necessary to use the 5-7-5 syllabic structure, though you can. Senryu poems are usually humorous or cynical and they focus on relationships, work, and the everyday. Haiku tends to be more serious and typically about nature.

You Too Can Shine Like Steve Carell

I watched Dan in Real Life on PPV this weekend. It was my second time to see the film. I originally viewed the film alone at the movie theater. Sadly, I couldn’t find anyone interested in seeing the movie with me. Anyhoo… to the point – Steve Carell is a genius. It’s my opinion that comedians make the best dramatic actors. The reverse can’t be said of dramatic actors. More often than not dramatic actors make miserable comedians (for example, Hilliary Swank in P.S. I Love You).

So, what does one have to do to be as brilliant as Steve Carell? It’s pretty simple really. One need only follow these steps. I, of course, think his most profound recommendation is “know things”!

Nature – Whale Songs

I’ve been listening to the Diane Rehm show on NPR. She’s been talking to David Rothenberg about whale songs (learn more about David by clicking on the link next to the second bullet). I was hoping I could link to the show on the NPR website, but it hasn’t been posted yet.

Whale songs – fascinating subject! I learned that there is a site where you can go listen to live whale songs. Exciting, isn’t it? Check it out – The Whalesong Project. You can also hear whale songs at The Jupiter Foundation.
