The answer to both of those questions is yes – per a recent announcement by Gothic Beauty magazine that it is “expanding its coverage of gothic fashion and music to keep up with the subculture gaining mainstream relevance.” Gothic Beauty, issue 26, will be the first of a new series and it will be “the lens through which the kaleidoscopic world that has become the goth culture can be viewed.” If I were a teenager, this is totally what I would be into. There comes an age though when goth beauty becomes goth hag. If you’ve seen Priscilla Presley lately, you know what I mean; though, I have to give her credit, she still moves like someone 25 years younger.
Last week, www.keepitinyourpants.org announced the five students from across the United States to have been selected as the finalists in their web-based video contest. A top prize of $5,000 for creating a public service announcement about the threat that “Debt Disease” poses to American consumers will be awarded on April 23rd. You can see all of the finalists’ videos here. I like the last film best – it has a laugh at the end.
